ATV who produced the TV series Crossroads donates £10,000 to start a pilot scheme in Rugby to support carers in a practical way.
1974Crossroads expands, creating regional schemes throughout the UK. A pilot scheme begins in Belfast.
1979The pilot scheme becomes a full time service to provide home based respite care across Northern Ireland.
1980Crossroads Young Carers project begins in Northern Ireland to support children & young people who are caring on a daily basis.
1994The 14 Schemes in Northern Ireland merge to become Crossroads Caring for Carers (NI) Ltd.
1996Crossroads partners with BMA Northern Ireland & The Big Lottery Fund.
2007Crossroads celebrates 30 years supporting carers & those with care needs throughout Northern Ireland.
2009Crossroads launch a Young Carers Survival Guide to help them through everyday life as well as emergencies.
2010Crossroads Activity & Sensory Room in Belfast opens to provide a safe & stimulating environment for children with additional needs.
2011Crossroads In Your Prime Project launches to support older people who suffer from loneliness & social isolation.
2012Crossroads celebrates 21 years supporting over 3000 young carers across Northern Ireland.
2015Crossroads Caring for Carers (NI) Ltd changes to Crossroads Care NI & rebrands to help raise awareness & support for their work.
